Should mp3 music be free?

I think mp3 music should be free and legal to download. I mean, why is it illegal to download for free? Because some people don't have the money to buy $10-$20 music. And by the way artists already make enough money, so they can afford to have their music free, because they have money coming out of their ears! And by the way most modern artists are very greedy and rich, and they make lots of money from concerts.

But, in the year 2000, an app called Limewire was released. Limewire was a free peer to peer sharing for Windows, Mac OS X, Linux and other operating systems that support Java software platform. The cons about this app is that you get A LOT of viruses for your computer, and could ruin your device forever.

Musicians make money from royalties, advances, playing live, selling merchandise and licensing fees for their music, and if people can listen to music for free on radio and youtube, why can’t we listen to music for free any other time?

In conclusion, artists are very rich, and make so much money from concerts etc, so why can't we download mp3 for free?

Animation Advert

This is a photo of mine and Konrad's planning sheet

On our planning sheet we have 4 scenes which are:
Scene 1. Person sleeping in his bed
Scene 2. Ninja tries to murder him but fails because of blunt knife
Scene 3. Ninja comes back with STAY SHARP knife
Scene 4. Ninja has a successful attempt to murder

WALT: create a 30 second advert.

SC
  1. Create a 300 photo shot  advert.
  2. I or 2 close-up shots on your character - portrait or close-up on facial shot
  3. Audience must know what you are advertising. Image and slogan must be provided.
  4. Movements of character or characters must be fluid, slower, more body movements shown.
  5. Add Title at the beginning and credits at the end. Don’t forget the music that reflects your mood for your advert.

Reflection

The things that worked well were: capturing the pictures, no hands or shadows in the animation, building our characters, following the SC, what we were advertising and creating our scene.
The learning that took place was: Using stop go animation, we video and using plasticine.
I'm proud of: How good it was because I was by myself, and it was only my second animation so I'm proud of it.
I can improve on: Making the characters a bit better, do smaller movements and stop moving the camera so much.

World Cup Presentation

Letter To Matua Melz And Whaea Delz

Kia ora, my name is Anthony and I would like to say a huge thanks to you guys for coming in free of charge and teaching us skills for softball in your own time.

Thank you for coming and teaching us ball handling skills and how you place your feet to aim the ball, to where you want it to go. Oh, and for using the holes in the ground, to your advantage. I felt like I learned heaps. Maybe we can start a team (or two) with your help.

I really enjoyed batting, it was really challenging, because you had to really aim for the ball and sprint your hardest. Oh, and I liked fielding too, but just not as much as batting.

Thinking back on the day, I had a great day and I thought it was awesome, and I hope you come again!

Yours sincerely,
Anthony.

Cross country

“Ready” Whaea Rosina yelled, I was nervous as ever. “Set……. GO!” Whaea Rosina snapped. I thought “Okay, I'll sprint for a while, then I'll just keep my pace.”

“Nice Anthony” Whaea Gaylene said with a high - five. “Ow!” I shouted when I stepped on a pointy rock “Don't slow down” I pushed myself to the limits that day.

After I passed the treacherous pointy rocks I slid in the nice cool mud by Whaea Meri. “See, I told you I could beat Peri” I puffed out to my dad when I went past.
“I can see that” he replied, and so I made my way again past the treacherous rocks and into what I called “The Strip”

As I turned into “The Strip” I splashed into the cool water. I remember thinking “oh, Toko, rugby must have paid off.” And so I jogged behind him without him noticing - until he turned around the cone, that is. “Nice Ants” Toko said and made his way again but with me closely following.

We got to where Sam was standing and jogged past. We got to the finish line and all you could hear was “Go Toko! Go Anthony!” It was a crowd go wild.

When Toko and I got to where Sam was again he was telling Toko to hurry up because I was right behind him. So I tried to overtake but he sprinted his little chicken legs out and unfortunately won.

Man my calf muscles ached hard after that. After a while Miss Simeon came over by me, my mum and my dad and said “Don't go anywhere until you sign this form, Because your son is going to Ohaeawai!” I was stoked, I couldn’t believe it!

In conclusion, the day was great, and I’m so happy to be going to Ohaeawai for the first time. And I was surprised I kept my pace.

Winter Direct Speech

Winter direct speech

“So how much do they get paid?” Winter questioned.
“Pardon me?” Mr Carruthers replied.
“How much do your workers get paid? You know, Ralph and Sylvia” Winter knew Mr Carruthers didn't like these questions.
“Umm, let me just get the statement papers.” So Winter waited while he scuffled around in his brief case. “Here we go,” Mr Carruthers said, after about five minutes.
“Finally” Winter said, rolling her eyes.
“So they get paid about a thousand dollars a week! WHAT THE HECK?!” Winter shouted at the top of her lungs. After that moment she just fulminated.
“So you’re telling me that these people get a thousand bucks a week and still, this place is a mess! I mean look at it, all you can see is blackberry bushes! Come on! And you pay these people a thousand bucks?! Missing furniture, everything isnt here! I've seen pictures of what it looked like back in the days, but tell me, what are the sales from timber in the last few years?” Winter asked.
“Timber? I haven’t heard of any timber sales around here” Mr Carruthers replied calm as ever.
“Oh so you haven't noticed the missing timber from the property? In my thoughts I think Ralph and Sylvia are crooks, just here for the money i'd fire them if I were you” protested Winter.
“I think they're doing a fine job” Mr Carruthers replied.
“I think you need to go to specsavers! Or to a therapist if you're hallucinating!” Winter shouted.
“I beg your pardon?” Mr Carruthers sounded a bit stoked.
“You know, Specsavers to get some glasses or go to a therapist to help with your seeing problems! I'm leaving, I want those people out of my property by tomorrow or you will be going with them too!” Winter stormed off angrily.

Narrative Writing: Adrift

Click on my title for the link to where my story is inspired from its called once in a lifetime.

ADRIFT

9121332.png
Hi my name is Old Hill billy James. I am 68 years old and this is my story about being caught adrift.

One sunny evening I was travelling on my hot air pirate ship when the propeller snapped. “Damn! How am I going to get back home now?”
Suddenly, I heard something that sounded like whales in the distance. It couldn't be whales at this time of year. Slowly, out of the mist came this bale of flying turtles. “What the....” I had no words for these amazing turtles. They were huge, floating freely and exquisitely amongst the clouds.
An idea came to mind. I ran and got the rope I always carry at the front of the boat and lassoed one of the turtles. “Yes! I'm on my way back home!” We slowly started to move, but without warning I saw the rope slowly start to wither before my eyes “Curse you, you stupid rope!”
All hope of getting home was slowly disappearing right before my eyes. Then I noticed that there was one more turtle that wasn't fast enough to keep up with the rest of the bale. I took my last remaining rope and decided to plunge overboard and catch the last turtle. “I hope I'm on my way home now” I muttered to myself.

Creating my own 'Flappy Bird' game.

Hi guys,
My aim was to create my own custom version of Flappy Bird!  I went to the site: www.code.org to research and learn about making games.  I needed to practice lots in order to make the game with confidence.

My game:
The way of scoring points is easy.  If you hit an obstacle you get 1 point and if you pass an obstacle you get 1 point but if you hit the ground the game ends.
If you want to play my Flappy Bird this is the link:  http://studio.code.org/c/99412849

What worked:
It found it easy to create the setting and background of my game.  You had lots of characters to choose from.  I also found the obstacle (what the flappy bird had to fly through and around) simple enough to do.  Tallying points or creating a leader board to improve on is something I haven't figured out yet.  I'm not sure if you can.

What next?
I want to create my own game from scratch instead of pre made games you can change.

In conclusion, I really enjoyed learning about creating games.  I think i'm going to continue learning about computer programming or as we call it coding.  Please leave a comment if you know of any other good sites that I can use to make a game from scratch.

Geometric Art (Writing Assignment)

Hi everybody, I am in something called a flipped classroom and this is one of the assignments we were given. If you think you know what picture I am describing please leave a comment. :-)

Let me tell you about my picture. It kind of looks like like an earthquake struck city. In a funny sort of way they look like multi-coloured box houses that are starting to crumble and fall. Certain boxes are cut in half and others are cut in quarters. In the background is a horrific rainy sky as dark as the darkest night. Despite that, the beautiful and bright sun shimmers amid the tall buildings. Some boxes are big, some are small, but the funny thing is, that they're made out of one common shape... but I'm not allowed to tell you. They look like Indian spices, all beautiful, vibrant different colours.
This art piece could also mirror our busy city Auckland, with buildings as tall as the sky tower.  It’s busy and thriving.  Some houses are being demolished so new ones can be rebuilt.

What image do you think I've chosen?
