My First Draft Writing
Sponge cake
As we stomped our way to Room 1 I knew this was gonna be a failure….
First things first, we had to wash our hands because we were working on our safety and hygiene thingy. After that we had to separate the egg whites from the yolks, but that didn't turn out quite as we expected…. “Hohepa you amatuer!” our group shouted, so then we had to get Jordan to tip it out in the stink bucket (A.K.A the pig bucket) and get some more eggs, “eah just let me and Antz separate the whites, you guys are amo’s” Konrad said to our group, luckily we were being a bit more careful this time, not complete you know what's. But we still didn't have as much as the others, so we just had to adjust to it.
After morning tea we had to whisk the egg whites until it was stiff “FASTER, FASTER, FASTER” our group shouted when Konrad was whisking the whites, eventually, they got stiff (sorta) and then we put ¾ cup of sugar (but since we only had a little bit of whites we used 2/4) and poured the destroyed little yolks in one at a time. After that we had to put flour, cornflour and baking powder in a cup, mix it thoroughly and very (very) carefully pour in our small little mixture. “Hurry up bro, tip this in” Konrad said while tipping the floury stuff in. “Oh I'm not sure if this little mixture is gonna fill up the tin” I said with nervousness. “It'll have to for all this hard work” Jordan sighed. As we poured the mixture in the cake tin with mixed emotions, I felt this was going to turn into a black disaster, rather than a perfect sponge….
After lunch, the (not so perfect) sponges came out of the oven, they smelled nice, but didn't look that appealing to the eye. But one looked like the mother of all sponges (Kohuroa’s group) but unfortunately everyone else’s one was a bit lopsided (including ours) and then it was all over…. we definitely lost.
