My Cross Country Recount

“Ready… Set…” No… I thought. BANG. Oh no oh no…. But my legs just kept pulling me forward, wanting to get this over and done with. Hey… I was in front of Toko! But, ow! This hurts… I had a stitch…

Jogging… Jogging… I waited for this moment… Toko passed me. I knew I shouldn’t of ate anything… But no, i’m clever like that…

Jogging onwards, upwards and around the cone to get ticked. Woohoo one down, two to go. Running back down (more like falling) then SPLAT! Dammit my shoes! Oh well, I'll have to wash them when I get home. (If I even GET home) Into the water we go!! SPLASH! Ahhh that was refreshing… (I guess?)

Jogging/walking through water and mud (which wasn't actually that great, but hey I heard it's good for your skin. Not sure about the shoes, though) Mark number two, and still with a big stitch. Around the cone, falling back down, in the mud and then BAM! I fell on my backside into the mud. I was laughing on the inside a bit, but I had to get back up and finish this race! Past Whaea Meri, Jumping over the gorse (I felt like a ninja) back around the third cone, welp, here comes the chanting…

Coming along under the trees all I could hear was “KONRAD, KONRAD” Then “AREKA, AREKA” Man those little kiddies are loud. Then “TO-KO, TO-KO” soon after that “ANTHONY, ANTHONY” I thought my ears were gonna bleed.

Lap three still with a stitch! My mind kept telling me yes, but my body kept telling me no. God I don't know what I ate, only a few Tim Tams and drank deliciously infused mouth watering water, but that wouldn't be the case, would it? But if it was it was probably the Tim Tams. Walking, jogging… Mark three! YES! Just a bit more… Through the mud… Through the water… Last corner… Dig it in!! Yes!, I’m finished!

Whew! I’m glad that’s over. I thought I’d done pretty good for a person with a stitch. If I didn’t have a stitch I reckon I would've done better, but i’ll have that chance next year… Until then i’ll have to get my fitness and stuff up, but I know for next year… DON'T EAT TIM TAMS.

My Pokémon Go Report

Pokémon Go sending players home FURIOUS.

Pokémon Go users are probably furious (including me) of the update that shutdown third - party pokémon trackers but neither of these reasons are stopping people from installing the app. According from the App Store data, Pokémon Go just hit 100 MILLION downloads in the weekend. (Yes, you're not hallucinating) That's from 75 million downloads toward the end of July.

The game had previously hit 50 million downloads on Android in record time - 19 days. The next on the leaderboard were Color Switch and Slither.io at 77 and 81 days. Apple reported that Pokémon Go earned the most downloads on the App Store in a launch week. Ever.

Pokémon Go also receives $10 MILLION (sorry for the exaggeration) in daily revenues. BUT…. there's recently been another update, making pokémon harder to catch altogether. For instance, say you're playing in a car, right? Your map refreshes every 10 seconds now, so now you practically CAN'T catch pokémon while playing in a car. Personally, I hate everything about this, because I normally play in a car. Oh, and there's one more thing, the pokémon are freaking harder to catch, it's like Niantic’s trying to squeeze more money out of people. There's been A LOT of complaints about these updates from furious pokémon go players.

But that raps it up for my report, angry pokemon go players, Niantic getting heaps of money, But the real question is…. Will Niantic bring back the soul of the game? Only time will tell.
